Amerika'da hukuk çok para getiren bir sektör malum. Anglosakson hukuku bizim hukuk sistemimizden oldukça farklı, ayrıntıya girmek niyetinde değilim, ama özünde burada yazanlar geçerli sanırım.
"Law is without question a great benefit to civilization. It helps us to resolve our differences and establishes bounds for the members who make up any given "society". In fact, for humans, a complete state of "lawlessness" can't exist. Just because there are no police or courts around the corner doesn't mean that there isn't law, even in time of war and revolution people still obey and enforce societal norms even when it isn't their "job". Police, or right protection personnel ALSO can be a great benefit to society, but that benefit can only be marginal as long as there is a monopoly on that service.
The police, and the courts, are (arguably) two of the most important services that a society can provide. Why then do we insist on a monopoly on these services? We seem to be able to appreciate the dangers of a monopoly when it applies to oil companies, software companies, utility companies, etc., I fail to see why most people on the face of the planet can't extend this thinking to its logical end. If the police know they are going to get paid not matter what kind of job they do, they aren't going to do as good a job (on the ave.) as they would otherwise. If judges knew that police firms wouldn't patronize their courts (pay their salaries) if they made bad decisions then they'd be forced to make better decisions, or run their courts more effectively."
